Rank of AR-15's - best to worst...what do you think?

As USP said, the choices are limited and getting worse everyday, I typically email any of the CGN sponsored companies 4 times before they answer and tell me they have no stock, it's a sad place when you can't find anyone to take your money.

If it came across that I was trying to tell people what they need or didn't, it wasn't intentional at all.
I may be opinionated at times, but I'll never tell anyone they shouldn't buy what they want. I don't need a Jeep Cherokee SRT8. My civic I had before worked just fine and got 3 times the gas milage.
But I wanted it so I got it.

I was just trying to give a different viewpoint, spend a ton of money on a name with features that aren't going to make or break a mission(your trip to the range, lol) vs saving money on the gun and getting more ammo and taking courses to become a better user of the tool that you did purchase. Sometimes priorities are misplaced during a purchase, that's all.

But if you can and want the $3000 gun, all the power to you! I won't tell you not to, and I won't be critical of your reasons for getting it.
Wanting it is a good enough reason for me, there usually doesn't have to be a 'need'. :)

Not trying to be an ass, I just found it kind of ironic that you claimed ego lead people to buy more than they "need".... which I found kind of egotistical since it sounded like you were stating that only you knew what people actually "need".

But now that I know you are also guilty of the crime in question, I feel MUCH better. :D

PS: I would probably spend 3000$ on an AR. Is that overspending? Meh, when I think of all these people putting rails/grips/stocks/flashhiders/flashlights/lasers/flarelaunchers/S&B or NF optics I wonder what their builds have cost them at the end.... and I think maybe 3000$ for a stock 6920 (and then maybe an ACOG to finish it up?) really isn't bad. :)

:agree:

On another note, the funny thing about these threads is the people that usually start them don't need the 'best'.
It's an ego or wannabe thing.

Most of them would be better off evaluating their expected real world use of the gun, and then buying accordingly.
With the money they would most likely save on the gun, they could get more ammo to practice with and probably even pay for some good training.

you mean, I've got the wrong idea to try and buy the most expensive gun just to look cool at the range??
I guess I do have a bit of a Napoleon complex thing going on...

actually, I was just interested in what others thought. I'll be the first to admit, I am far from the top in terms of knowledge base when it comes to not only AR's, but firearms in general. I'm sorry if my questions bore you, or seem simple minded (which some probably are), but as I said, I am no where near possessing the knowledge that many of our fellow members have - but I am trying to learn.

the one that goes bang everytime I pull the trigger.... Lately it sounds like a Stag/VKamrs combo..... My LMT's feedramps where ####ed and I had to recut them for it to work properly, my armalite needed some fitting to cycle properly and my colt well is just plainly overpriced for what I got.

where is the best deal to buy a stock AR right now????, It will be my first one and I am thinking new because all the bells and wistles every puts on theirs is kinda a personal thing that I don't want to pay for.

Everyone is sold out justin, except for Wolverine, they have a couple of Sabre Defense brand left and they are around $2000. Your best bet is to call around.

I'm more than happy with my Olympic Arms.

People harp on them a lot, but their products and customer service are superb. I ordered a barrel and handguards from them on August 29, and it got to my door September 9 and has worked flawlessly since I had them installed.
