RANT......Hey Westerners what the hell is a ky-ute?????

But it's fun to play that way.

I was over at my aforementioned Ontario transplant buddys place tonight and I showed him this thread. He laughed and said "See?? The western guys are just poking some fun, the guys from Ontario are taking it really seriously! THAT is the real difference!! :) "

Then he said "it's my 20 year BC anniversary! I'm eligible for my BC passport now!"

We had a good laugh....:)

So after 24 pages I have come to this conclusion......

Self Rightous A-holes "like me" live in the East but mostly Ontario and in particular the GTA/Toronto. We seem to care how the rest of the world views us when we speak. So we say coyote as coyote not ky-Ute. We count all the points on a buck to make it sound bigger, We were once the economic engine for Ontario, now we just drain the rest of Canada, we always vote liberal even if we say we don't, and we are to serious for our own good and should let westerners be the Good ole boys they are.

good old boys live in the west, they support the rest of Canada but mainly Ontario with there oil and gas industry, and because the are light hearted good old boys, They would never vote liberal, they call coyotes ky-Utes! They only count one side of a buck antler and call it something X something (my guess is they are to lazy to count them all or can't)( just a joke! Hopefully I'm not a biggot for making it?) And most of all they don't give a crap if anyone cares but mainly don't give a crap if you care and your from Ontario!

LMAO ! This has been a fun Thread

Western guys just poking some fun??? That ain't the way I read this... it was an "anal putz" thread at it's inception, but it did expose some wounds and some biases...

So now our dogs aren't good enough for you?.... :)

Haha! That gave me a good chuckle. How do you hunt coyotes with beagles? Are they just for tracking or do they run the coyote towards you for a shot? We used to run down coyotes with 3 greyhounds, it was lots of fun but most municipalities in Sask and Alberta have banned the practice.

We set up just like we do when we run the hounds for deer.... a few guys dogging with the hounds in tow.... Once they get the scent of a coyote they are trained to follow it... and when they get a view or know they are close they start running the trail and push the dogs out to where we have guys set up.... Works really well, you just have to make sure you have the right bush layout as coyotes won't run out on regular trails unlike deer....

i dont distinguish myself from what province I'm from, I'm a Canadian first and last. Who cares what you call a coyote, yote, ky-ute, if it get in my cross hairs, consider it dropped. Dont get so butt hurt from a little chirping.

Maybe you are wound up too tight then. :)

I see plenty of comedy on this thread.

Who's taking things too seriously now? putz!

With all due respect, I would ask that you both review the thread and ask yourself if everything was comedy...... I don't see it.... I see some comedy, and I see some animosity.......

Hint: a comedic statement online is typically followed by an "lol" or a smiley...... much like the exchange between coyoteking and I......

When politics gets involved, the smileys and "lol's" dissapear and fingers get pointed, it isn't "funny" anymore.....

I would actually love to meet, share a pint and converse with many non "eastern" members in this thread...... including guys I have disagreed with in the past......

But I share Hoyt's view that the brush is too big and the perceptions are old and outdated...... it wasn't all in fun......

I'm in deer camp now, listening to the ky-utes howling while I BBQ the bratwurst...

Good for you...... my trail cams are out, bait is out, and I will be at camp this weekend putting a new chimney on the bunkhouse..... may try and squeeze a fall turkey hunt in somewhere, but I don't take fall turkey too seriously and the bush is too thick for upland right now here....it has been a weird year, my traditional first upland hunt is thanksgiving weekend......
