I believe that USMC pack is the ILBE pack, was designed by Arcteryx and built by Proper. It has an internal frame. Very comfortable for me anyway. Beats the 82 pattern.

ILBE packs are pretty great. Designed by Arcteryx and made by Proper. Coyote would be a bonus. Complete and new for $200...! You might be able to find a slightly better/lighter pack now... For $600+.

When I was in they were issued 1997.

Did basic (at 32 years old) in 2002. Our masks were the green C4 masks (They still are...Other than CANSOF)

some people live close to chemical plants and the like, so having an option to keep harmful chemicals off your skin makes sense. also be useful for a pandemic flu outbreak
