Of course there are rarer items, but those are some that I keep an eye out for.

I have a Winchester mod 94 made in around 1896-1900 38-55 in ok condition….

This thread fits in with the “I’ve never seen another one like it”, that I hear all the time at gun shows.

I've seen a few 630,770, and 940's around. Now if you really want to make it rare, in 1988 I ordered a HK 770 LEFT HANDED complete with one extra 3 round (came with one 3 round) and two 10 round magazines and the HK-05 QD scope mount. Even back then it cost me over $2500. This qualifies as not only rare, but odd.

I kinda feel like I screwed up, because my brother had the damn thing sold in under 24 hours. Maybe he priced it too low!

" Feeler ad"

"I love this gun and I am not sure if I will sell it"

Both followed by prices around 20% higher than from a dealer.

Make the seller a ridiculously high offer they couldn't possibly refuse, then tell them it was a feeler offer...LOL

I might have a couple that could be close to that description-
Savage 99C .375Win with mag/clip
1966- 760 in .222rem
1981 Rem Classic 'Deluxe' in 7mm Mauser with real Ebony wood fore end tip, grip cap and more elaborate checkering than the 'standard' classic.

To me rare means you see them come up for sale maybe 1 every 3-5 years. Or a 130 year mill surplus that don't exist any more. Say a lee Metford mk1 with the 8 round mag. I have never seen one for sale in Canada before. That is rare.

When I first signed up for cgn I saw a north Korea sks barreled action for sale. I passed as it was 300$ and didn't think much of it. Well it's been like 7 years and I have never seen another. Turns out I missed a very rare rifle.

then there are some rifles where you cant decide if its rare, I have a Valmet m78 sitting here in 223. is that rare? I'm not sure, there are probably 5 for sale right now in Canada, so id say its not rare but how many people actually own then, numbers wise they may be rare but the fact that you can always buy when you want one makes it seen not very rare.
