Rare SKS ?

glad to see yours come with stripper clips . i have given some stripper clips away to members who said theirs didnt come with it.

The stock also looks like it has had some repair's & I thought these 1949 model's all had the spike bayonet. All in all nice refurb.

This copied and pasted from the SKS45 FAQ

1949 was the only year it came with a spike bayonet, not the 3 rib type like the Chinese but a 4 rib (aka cruciform), sometime later in that same year they switched to a blade bayonet. If anyone has one of these, you are lucky because it is extremely valuable.

I'm not an SKS expert so maybe I'm missing something? It's a refurb no? It's a NICE refurb, but it's not original. The blade is blued. It's an early receiver with a '49 dust cover. Is the stock single serial-ed and dated 1949? The year is easily changed, and the internals can be mixed and matched according to early or late production.

It's like my favorite k98 - It's got all the Waffs and dirty birds, it still has 90% of the original blue and has a beautiful laminate stock. If it was all numbers matching It would never come out of the cabinet. As it is, the bolt and front band don't match the rifle so it's just a really nice shooter.
