holy crap that IS rare...

if the provenance on that is for real, just wow! not my thing, flintlock pistols, but that is really something!

I don't think there is any doubt it is for real.
Earlier, I sent pictures to a very qualified milsurp collector on these threads. He subscribes to the Man at Arms collector magazine and when the June 2013 issue came out, he sent me copies of it and identified the gun. As he says, it is so rare that most collectors have never heard of it.

Wow - I have a new hero - if you ever need an organ (kidney, liver, lung, heart, brain {unused} ) I'm sure we can work something out. I noticed EFD has a 1916 BSA sniper available, but the cost is amazing.

Enfield Enforcer question

Does your enforcer have the lug for the bi-pod present?

From what I remember, the Enforcer doesn't have any indication there was a bi-pod lug ever mounted. It was shipped to the Northern Ireland Royal Ulster Constabulary on 24th March 1977 and I've had it since 2002.

Going to open this old thread, because I had a posting of an extremely rare flint lock pistol, post 217, but no real proof that it was genuine.
I contacted the editor of the Collector's magazine, Man at Arms, sending pictures of mine and a letter of how I thought it was the missing Dawes pistol.
In the current issue of their prestigious collector magazine they printed my letter and a copy, in black and white, of the five pictures I sent of it. Altogether taking almost an entire page of their magazine!
The little note the editor added is virtually sure proof that the p istol is indeed, the missing Dawes.
