Hey all

Just tried my first rattle can krylon paint job out on my new chiappa m1-9
(Why not it's a cheap gun anyway)

I was happy with the results, what do you guys think?

That's pretty well done. With the layering, it almost looks factory. Did you sand down the coats or final coat to make the finish look even?

It was actually easier than I expected. I started with a base layer of brown, then used grass and vegetation from my yard as stencils.

I layed the vegetation (grass, pine needles, leaves) pretty thick, basically burying the stock so you can barely see it through the loose grass and pine. Then held the can far enough away as not to let the compressed air blow the vegetation away. Basically hold the can 3-4 ft above and spray down directly. Remove the vegetation and apply again for each colour. I did brown, then khaki, then finished up with OD green.

Yeah threw the grip on today just to try it. Probably take it off to be honest it doesn't feel all that great.

No I didn't sand between coats or even after finish. Just let it dry 15-20 minutes between coats

Very nice job.....but, I could live without the Fab Defense grip in the front.....but it is me. (and do not get offended.....I have the same grip on a Grizzly and a Tavor....but older style guns, I like them in their original form)
