Rating of Norinco 40 cal NP58

i haven't personally shot one, but a buddy of mine has one and swears by it, next best thing to the orginal Sig (minus the price difference !), i have the Norinco NP-40 in.40S&W, and love it as well, it's a very nice shooting piece. granted either one aren't the same as there "brand name" counterparts..but for the money, you can't go wrong !!

i really like my np-40... bu the return spring broke, and i didnt know how to fix it so i had to sell it =(.
id say a solid 8/10 bang for buck. how can you go wrong for a $300 pistol?

that spring is super easy to change, too bad you had to get rid of it, i love mine..i even shoot it for Bulls-eye shoot at 20 yds..i'm not as accurate as alot of the guys shooting wheel guns..but still competetive

It's said that a Norinco Sig frame will never crack like the original Sig. Chinese engineers added steel component onto the rail to prevent that.

It's a great upgrade.

Now that makes you want to see your new CanAm Sig right now :) right?

Several of the 228 clones frames crack and there are threads about them on here. Haven't heard of any since the "upgrade" took place so that might have cured it.

so the new batches of np22, np34 and np58 have their frames upgraded? so no more cracking problems then right???

I got my NP 58 around Christmas. I'll rate it 9 out of 10. The finish is good and Sig copy from Nork is not bad at all. I have a Sig Equinox in .40, and I try to switch the slide but doesn't work. However, the mag and barrel are interchangeable. For accuracy, it shoot as good as my Sig Equinox. Of course there are things that you don't like. The double action is terribly long and heavy. Another thing is, it FTF on the last round because of the weak mag spring. I switch to the Sig factory mag and the problem disappear. Overall impression: excellent for a .40 semi at $360. I love good and cheap gun!

Can you elaborate more on its accuracy.
Such as group size at a certain distance off hand or supported on bench. I normally judge my pistols at 13-15 yards and off hand.
