rats out to 50 yds?

Not going to advocate for NOT using enough power, but they are rats.. I think any PAL-rated Diana spring-piston gun in 22 would be pretty hard to beat. I don't love huge/magnum springers, but something as big as a Diana 34 maybe.

22LR with CCI Quiet-22 would be a better option for a host of reasons, but since you're asking about airguns-that's what I'd probably suggest. For something less expensive, these are supposed to hit pretty hard if you don't mind pumping; https://www.airgunsource.ca/us/crosman-362-22-cal-multi-pump-rifle.html

Thanks. This might do the trick if I can throw an optic on it. I've been seeing rats at the bird feeders before dusk lately. I've killed a couple in traps this week but they get smart really fast in my experience. The feeders will have to go till late fall now.

You can. Same mounts that work on the crossman 13xx/22xx works on this. You can also put a steel breech on it. What I got on mine.

I considered getting a Crosman 362 to "take-care" of some uninvited critters.
By the time I added the cost of the 362, steel-breech, mounts and optic it made more $$ sense to feed one of my .22lr bolts with CCI quiets.
I already have a 1322 (over 2 decades old) that shoots hard but all that pumping gets old quick.......

1000 f/s .177 10.34 grain pellet will kill rats at 50 yards...

Air Arms 10 shot bolt action 3600 psi good for 60 full power shots between fills.

And there are no rats in Alberta

I'd use my 1322 for 'one-of' shots OR use my CO2 Artemis CP-1 for 'extended fun'. But neither is good for 50-yds, either in accuracy Or Power. Quiet 22lr is the way to go since plenty of power and 'reach'. Have to get dope for slow 22lr at 50 tho. Even tho it's 'just a rat', I still have ethics. Poisons are Very Slow Acting for the most common ones and I don't see Retribution as a viable attitude RE damaging my property.
