I had no sweat whackin' rats back in day with me Slavia 620 .177 rifle. Bonked them out to 50+ yds along with a host of other critters including
squirrels, rabbits & birds. So much fer the good times of me youth. Uuugh.
These days I use a dash of home made "rat popper" placed in a dry area were they show up. Simple mix of 1 part cornmeal to 2 parts baking
soda does the deed beauty. Put an ounce or 2 on a plastic lid in spots where pets can't get at it. Bob's yer uncle.
