Anyone got their hands on the two and had a chance to compare them? Price, glass, over all quality and reticle thickness at max zoom etc?

Razor 2 is not officially out yet, however some of the guys at the hide have them and they reviewed very well. I think you would be happy with both, however I have heard more positive about the vortex...
 
Ya I figure either would work great. Just trying to get some more first hand info before I put in an order for one. Putting together a 338 Lapua AI for some extreme long range banging.
 
Well one is FFP and the NF is SFP. So they are 2 completely different scopes. When you have guys like Terry Cross and Rob on the Hide who sold his S&B's to buy the new Vortex HD that says a lot about what they think of them. You can't beat Vortexs warranty either. From what I've read the ATACR is just a spruced up NXS, which isn't a bad thing they are a great scope as well.
 
And the razors are available, but sold quickly. There was a site sponsor who had them no?

I chose the ATACR for the length and weight, but I also wanted SFP.
 
The fact that the Vortex is a FFP scope and the ATACR a SFP scope seals the deal for me. I have a NXS 5.5 -22 right now but would prefer a FFP scope. I tried a BEAST and didn't like the lever system on the thing. I am a NF fan but wish they offered more glass in FFP so as a result I am getting rid of the NXS and going to a FFP, mil/mil scope, likely a new Steiner or the Vortex. If I was Donald Trump which I am not or it was issued there are other options.
 
I have always liked sfp for the thin cross hairs at max power for long range. Ended up finding a good deal on a new nsx 5.5-22 with NP-R1. Couldn't justify spending over 800 more for the ATACR or 1200 more for what I have been hearing the vortex will be going for. I also liked the moa reticle that aren't to cluttered. All vortex offers is there Christmas tree version of there reticle in moa.
 
When I spoke to my Vortex rep a couple of weeks ago he advised that very few of the new Razor HD Gen II's had been produced and only a couple had been sent to Canada. We were lucky to receive 4.5-27x56 however it was sold within a week of arrival. Retail was $2999. These will continue to arrive in very small numbers. At first I doubted that people would pay 3G's for a Vortex but I was wrong and more are on order. No feedback from the purchaser of the Razor yet. Phil.
