Hi,

I was wondering if the only way to get good accuracy out of these guns is to scope them? Since the parts are mismatched, would one expect the iron sights not to be zeroed?

You have to suspect any sights to be off that you have not zeroed yourself. The accuracy will depend on barrel condition and stock bedding. You should be able to tell by shooting from a secure rest. If you get POI to be pretty consistent for the first couple of shots then start moving, suspect bedding. If you are holding carefully and they are all over the place, suspect barrel.

That looks to me like an M48 or something in the picture, not a K98. K98's start at 100m, at least they do on mine!!

You are correct, it is an M48. I would have thought they were the same, my mistake...
