RCBS 230 gr Rn cast bullet oal for 45acp

I have the rcbs 230gr rn mold oal for 45acp is 1.27 oal but in my 45 it wont pass the plunk test till 1.20oal is that safe being that far down in the case ???don't want pressure issues .

as long as you start with the starting load for the same bullet weight/type then yes it is. load 5 or 10 at different powder charges in .2 or .3 grain increments and see which one shoots best.

The bullet will not let the round chamber until the straight sides are in the case. There is no lead into the rifling like there is in a revolver, had to learn that myself. Use the start loads, that small difference should not do much. BUT what powder are you using , this can be a factor?
