Well recently I discovered my trusty 5-0-5 wasn't weighing consistently. (Up to a .3 variance at times)

After a little research it seems you have to discharge static(using a dryer sheet) and gently clean and lightly oil pivot point.

I did all that and now I am back to .1 grain within my Hornaday digital scale.

I might also fine tune the pointer with a fine needle and use a camera to get more precise reading.

Anyone else have any tweaks to share?

One day I hope to buy a power trickler and Sartorius Entris scale but $1500 is a steep price.

I've had an RCBS 5-10 for about 30+ years now and a twice I've found it is varying a couple of tenths of a grain, all I've done to correct it is to blow out the groove that the knife edge's sit in and that corrects it. I wasn't keeping it in a particularly dusty place but it doesn't take much to throw it off a tiny bit.

I've also have a 5-0-5, got it used and it's been around for a long while but probably not used for more than a decade prior to be getting it. I had to wipe off the knife edges and where they sit and it was good to go.
