So I can't get my Chargemaster combo to work on the auto setting. The directions in the manual are:

1) Hold "Enter" button down until the setting changes to "Auto".
2) Enter charge weight and hit "Enter" button.
3) Hit "Disp" button to dispense the first charge.

After that, it is supposed to automatically dispense a charge every time the powder pan is placed back on the scale and it zeroes off. Mine simply sits there and does nothing until I hit the "Disp" button again.

Any ideas on why it won't work as per the manual? Am I missing a step or what?

Thanks,
Mark

All I do after setting it up is punch in the weight I want and then the Dispense button. It dispenses the correct amount, I fill a shell, put the pan back on and it starts doing it again. I like how it shows the number of throws also. I push the cancel/stop button after the last load has been dispensed. Awesome piece of equipment.

Auto Dispense...

I find the auto dispense mode is less accurate than letting it go to zero and dispensing the powder manually.

I wouldn't use it for my reloading, and suggest you check the accuracy for yourself.

^ It resets to zero before it throws another charge.

Well that's what it is supposed to do; but it doesn't. Check some actual charges it dispenses in auto mode that the scale says weigh "X" grains against an accurate balance beam.

You won't use auto mode.

NormB: I have checked mine on auto mode many times. It is exactly the same as if I press the dispense button manually each time. Why yours doesn't, I have no idea. Eagleye.

weird, mine works just fine.

i do it like this everytime:

1)power on scale/dispenser

2)calibrate scale

3)enter weight on dispenser(26.5 grains for example)

4)hit disp.

5)powder dispenses to pan, then on the first, fifth, tenth, and then every ten after that i confirm the charge with my balance beam scale.

6)after emptying the charge into the case, i set the pan back on the scale and as soon as the scale hit's zero it starts to dispense the next load.

at this stage i have accidentally tapped the trickle tube before and knocked a few kernels into the pan, and it will not start until i clean out the pan.
