Is the only difference between the 220volt European and the 120volt North American the power supply that converts to 9volt dc. The reason I am asking is I have 9 volt power supplies that will work fine if this is the case and I can buy a European model for a lot less. Yes I am cheap, no no frugal!

Best way to find out would be to call RCBS and ask 1-800-533-5000. The customer service is easy to deal with, you may even find out that if you get the 220 version and all you need is the new power supply that RCBS may even send it to you.

European model could be in metric...ie grams instead of grains... I know my old one had both on it but I have not looked at the new one yet...

Depends how much alot less is... once you get it in the country pay your duty and taxes and canadian to euro currency exchange it might be cheaper to buy it from a CGN dealer Wink Wink

they are the same I believe both measure in grains the only difference is the power supply so as along as you got a 9v supply your good to go.

msg.drew: as for the cost I have found these new for nearly 1/2 the price they are listed for sale in canada its easy to find one landed to your door for about $300cdn while they are over $500cdn to buy from say WSS....ect

I missed one the other day on ebay it sold for just over $250cdn and shipping was $45.....there is one right now sitting at $157 with 4days left.......

$287+$45=$332 that is pretty close and if its shipped with USPS its likely not going to cost anything in duties or brokerage if its done right....

I will buy one right now off you for $332shipped

mmm you do realize that prices on ebay are in United States Dollars 332 is
$415 Canadian dollars...

Its going to cost you %13 taxes 5 dollars duty

Total cost in canadian is $473.95

"If done right" you mean smuggled? and not declareing the correct value I sure hope its not lost or your going to be out a substantial amount of money.

I will sell you one right now for $450 CAD plus Shipping and GST/PST you will have it by friday...

I have bought alot of things form the USA with everything done correct and sometimes you get dinged and some times you do not. I just got a package from the US today value $282 no duties or brokerage and no funny business to avoid being dinged.

I dont know where you see the lowest price these scales have sold for on ebay but I'm not joking when I say one sold the other day for just over $250cdn.....I also search ebay.com and message the seller to arrange shipping to Canada even though in their listing it says they wont ship to Canada if you send them a friendly hello they are accommodating.

For $450+tax+shipping I can afford to hire a kid to measure powder for an hour every time I reload. See (cost vs time saving) isnt that appealing to me at that price now $300 is getting better but I will wait and watch some sites and when the time is right I will scoop up one for much less then $450.

any package coming from anywhere other then within canada that has a value more then 20 dollars is subject to taxes and 5 dollar handling/duty fee... assuming you use USPS or goverment run postal serivce... private companies such as UPS Fedex DHL fees can skyrocket very quickly.

If you go on ebay type in chargemaster 1500 combo... then on the left side of the screen half way down there is a link that shows completed items and which sold and which did not. You have to have an ebay account to see this information log in with your account and you will see the cheapest one was...

FYI 2009 price for the chargemaster combo is $520 CAD

If you think you can do better then my offer by all means go ahead... you may also run into issues with warrenty alot of companies dont offer warrenty on items purchased on ebay because normally the sellers arnt authorized dealers of there products.

nice thats about $440 shipped to your door including tax, shipping and brokerage less if you dont get dinged.

289usd=$346cdn + tax+shipping should be about $442 and if sent with usps you may not get hit with tax or brokerage so you may get it to your door for around $395......

I could live with $CDN450 if it INCLUDED shipping and GST.

In fact, I'll take one if that's possible.

Cheers,

FM

The only way 450 plus taxes and shipping is possible right now as I bought some before they increased the price for 2009... the new msrp is 520 I think its possible that when I reorder more "my" 2009 price will be $500 +shipping and taxes

I only have one left... to be honest right now your priorities should be finding someone who has them instock... I am having a very hard time right now placing orders in the states with companies as they have reported 2008 has been a record year for reloading and they cant keep up with production.
Currently wholesale sports has them listed at $520
