RCBS CHARGEMASTER issues please help

X2 at first it seemed weird now grams for powder is weird. Higher resolution with grains than grams 2.81g vs 43.5gr.

Resolution is misleading because 1 gram has 15.4324 grains. It is the same resolution, just on a different scale.

I think a better analogy would be HD tvs 1080p vs standard tv both 42". You'll see better picture because each pixel is smaller. But the screen size is the same. Same thing with grains vs grams.

I have compared my Chargemaster to my 1mg scale. The CM is accurate to an ES of .2gr. This is not a function of the dispenser but of the scale. In testing it always displayed the correct weight on the CM but it was not always correct. Unless you have a real high end beam scale I think you will find the digitals are better, mine always have been. I now have a mechanical analytical balance to compare to as well but I expect the same results. Since I am not competitive these days just about all my rifle gets loaded with the CM.

So are you chargemaster users mostly weighing in grains or grams? I am accustomed to grams so it takes a while to get used to. I did the straw mod and weighing in grains every load seemed to be bang on.

Grains.
The straw mod helps a little with certain powders but some powders just meter poorly no matter what you do with the dispenser.
The biggest thing with the chargemaster combo aside from letting it warm up a little, calibrating it and keeping electrical interference away is to wait for the weight to display again after it beeps and tells you how many charges it's made. I find that sometimes if I'm seating a bullet while it's weighing the next charge I'll bump the table and the chargemaster beeps but once it switches back to weight it's reading under. I need a bench for the press and a separate table for the scale so I don't interfere with it while it's trickling.
