RCBS Chargemaster lite

I just bought one last month. Absolutely love it. I still check every sixth or seventh charge on a balance scale. Makes sub moa ammo for me.

Works well for me. If you are counting individual kernels of powder not so much but if you want something that gives within 0.05 gr or so then it works very well indeed. It can trickle over charge about once per 40 charges. This is due to the kernels getting stacked in the drop tube and then suddenly falling out in a bunch. I just dump that load back in the hopper and let it do it again. When it was set up exactly level according to the bullseye bubble level it would over charge more often, about 1 in 10 would be 0.1gr over. I raised the front end slowly using the leveling feet and it really reduced the tendency for this to happen. My only complaint is that the touchscreen display is finicky. That or my fingers are too fat.

A game changer for me, speed wise.
Well worth the cost and I ask myself why I didn’t get something like this years ago.
Works better when warmed up and works better with some powders than others.
If your completely OCD might not be for you but it’s also not at that price point.
Weighs to the tenth repeatedly and quickly so it works for me.
YMMV

I have one, love it. I came from a lee powder measure, electronic scale with a trickler to dial in charges. Night and day, cut my loading time down considerably.

I believe you made a very good buy.

I had mine for 9 months and it has been excellent, well within the posted specification. My reloading time as been cut quite a bit. My Chargemaster lite was purchased for $365 tax in minus the US $100 mail in rebate.

Nice to see these are getting good reviews. I have the hornady version, on my 3rd one (warrantied each time) but I just don't have a lot of faith in it. Should have went RCBS in the first place.

I will be adding a chargemaster or chargemaster lite to my reloading bench soon enough. I just need to decide which one is right for me. This has been very good information on the lite and makes it a bit tougher of a decision.

I got one at springtime but only used it a couple times
It worked flawlessly and was way better then the Lee perfect powder measure I was using before

^^^^ This, it was a game changer for me as well..

Thank you all for the replies. Reviews are limited on the lite so I'm glad to see it can drop charges reasonably consistent like the 1500 combo. I understand its definitely not the best, but the best just isn't in the budget. I've been using a 505 and trickler with excellent results but charging cases is always an annoyance for me (personal preference thing)

Max speed savings if you are seating the bullets in charged cases while the machine is dropping the next power charge.

This is how I do it and how I plan to use the CM. Weigh charge, charge case, seat bullet, next.

If it can maintain 1/10th gr accuracy then it should serve me well. An occasional overcharge happens while trickling by hand so 1 in 40 doesn't concern me. I usually throw a few more overcharges than that in a reloading session anyways.

Thank You GreenBob, very informative posts. I'll be comparing the CM lite to the 505 when it gets here and will try a similar test to see what I get.
