RCBS Chargemaster Lite

RCBS - CHARGEMASTER POWDER DISPENSER COMBO $389.99 on sale from $411.99
RCBS - CHARGEMASTER LITE 120/240VAC $239.99 on sale from $270.99

I am sure you are right but that is a lot of $$ drop for just memory and some plastic.

The design of the combo is more complicated because it's in 2 parts. The Lite also has the advantage of piggybacking on the combo, so it benefits from RCBS experience designing the combo. A lot of companies would have stopped producing the combo at this point.

There's probably a lot of the difference in $ that goes to gross margins.

I have a CM light, my first electronic powder thrower.
It has been the single biggest productivity improvement in single stage reloading for me.
Think of the difference between single stage vs progressive. Same type of leap.
Mines worked flawlessly so far and the charges I’ve checked on my RCBS 505 have been correct as that scale with my eyes can detect.

If I may ask, where are you seeing the Chargrmaster Lite for $239.99? Thx.

I used to have a Lyman and it was awful
It would be +/- o.4 grain. Flogged it off and got the full sized RCBS combo and very pleased with mine. I have a Scott Parker tuned balance beam. Mine throws +/- 0.1 grain. Good enough for general hunting shooting loads. For F Class competition loads I set in 0.1 gr light and then trickle the last few kernels into said tuned scale.

5 other buddies have them so we decided to do testing with same Scott Parker scale.
One other one was +/- 0.1 gr and the other 4 per +/- 0.2 gr

You have to get into the $2000 to $3000 range to get better.

Important thing is no airflow (near a duct) and regardless of what the instructions say, plug it in at least 1 hour before in the spot you are going to use it. Wait the hour before you zero it. That advice to other friends who have them gave them more consistent results. Oh, and don't forget a surge protector as that can have an effect.

Good luck and enjoy your loading!

Hey I thought I would use this thread for this question.

Does florescent lights affect the lite version. Thought I read that somewhere that they can screw with electronic scales.

Love my RCBS unit. How in hell did I reload for 40 years without it.

Ditto. But about 30 years less. I used a digital scale, trickler, and the lee scoops. Worked fine, but took awhile. Bought the CM lite a couple months ago. Holy hell it's life changing. I don't know why I let myself suffer for so long.

Brownells had a sale... I posted the link but it looks like it was removed.
Even with taxes, shipping and exchange rate... it pays off to buy it from US.

i was hoping you knew a secret special place without having to pay conversions and the price was the price and i would purchase one!!

I was lucky enough to find a chargemaster lite, brand new in the box from a private seller on Sniperhide’s forum. $200 USD shipped “as a gift” :). Heck of a deal, should have it in a few days
