I'm looking for some input from those who own one or the other and pros & cons of each. I haven't heard much about the Hornady offering, but I understand that the RCBS is quite accurate and dependable.

Let me know what you think...

I use my chargemaster all the time, just for the sheer convience. Earlier ones have given some grief, when our loose group all got ours I think they eventually all piled up. Mine got replaced even though it was off warranty, after I shot it with a 458. They wanted me to smash it with a hammer but where's the fun in that?

In spite of having some trouble, it never occurred to any of us to not get a replacement. Once you use one you can't go back.

You'll hear many complain about how slow the Chargemaster is. Contrary to popular belief, one can re-program the speed of their Chargmaster to suit their needs.

I`m not familiar with the Hornady, but i own a chargemaster and the Lyman 1200.
Both are good machines but i prefer the chargemaster, and yes you can reprogram it .
Cheers .
Victor.

Well sooner or later a Hornady owner like myself will come to the post. I have had the Hornady unit for a few years now. I load mostly small cases like 222, 257 bob and 25-06. For the winter I have moved mine out of the not so warm garage and into the house. I love mine and calibrating it is a piece of cake when you need to. When I warm mine up and take the powder pan off if it reads 151.5gr I am ready to load. FS

Owned the LNL loved it, one sitting did 300 loads. Only one bad charge and it was user error. Like any scale I would turn mine on and let it warm up 10-15 mins and then calibrate and no complaints here .

Thanks for all the replies thus far. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Excellent read, thank you. I believe my decision is now made...

I have no experience with the LNL but the RCBS is an awesome reloading tool. I can't imagine going back to the "old way". It has made the whole experience even more enjoyable now.
