After 10 years of reloading, I finally treat myself to an RCBS Chargemaster.

I can't believe I did not pull the trigger on one of these earlier. So much faster, accuracy and repeatability is more than acceptable.

What a stellar piece of gear.

So the question is, when did you first get yours, and have you done any of the youtube modifications?

Have two. Member laurencen does bushings, "high tech" McDonalds straw. Find him in my feedback.

Electric trimmers and powder dispensers take out the repetition and tedium.

Edit....apparently laurencen was one of.the multitude who doesnt return feedback.....in sent feedback.

I am sitting here comparing chargeweights with H322 which is a pain to trickle, or throw with a thrower, and ladder testing charges. 100gn charges, 10 throws of 10, 5 throws of 20, 2 throws of 50... etc etc, and I am tickled at how precise it can be.

sorry for late feedback, glad they worked out, i have corrected my error

My first one piled up due to a faulty key-pad. There was a lot of trouble back in the beginning; but they did warranty it even the warranty was up. Well they sort of warranted it; I shot it with a .458 Win Mag; smashed the remaining pieces with a hammer and sent them the video. They send me a new one for 68 bucks.

I did the McDonalds straw mod and after an embarrassly long interval eventually got around reprogramming it for speed and using two weight matched pans. That cut the dispensing time in half, and will help conserve what little sanity I have left. Great machine, with those couple tweaks.

On my second. Keypad went on mine too.

The new one is the smaller one without as many bells and whistles. But since I did not use them I don't miss them.

Always powder ready when I am ready to put powder in brass.

Cut my reloading time in half.

Given the sharp rise in the prices, the Lyman Gen 6 has been getting more sales. Feedback with shooters comparing the weight to their balance beam have been positive. I have not used this Lyman but it is a very compact unit.

RCBS chargemaster Lite is a smaller unit and alot less money.

Something to test is how consistent the digi scale is vs its output. Some have drifted quite badly so output did not agree with the mass in the pan. Always a good idea to check now and then.

PM or email if I can help. Thanks

Jerry

Going 1 step further, I use the same calibration weights on all 3 scales... just to insure I have a consistent TARE before loading. The RCBS is plugged into a UPS computer power supply. No current ripple, just clean clean power. Most of the issues I have read have been high freq switching power supplies and AC voltage ripple related.

That is a great idea ....

I have had mine for about 10 years. First one died early. RCBS had me give it the hammer treatment. I sent them a picture and they sent me a new machine. No issues since. I have not bothered with after market addons. The unit has served me well.

Take Care

Bob

digi scales love clean power

glad your set up is working for you

You would think by running their own power brick that there would be enough line conditioning in it.

But there is not. I notice a lot less drift in my scales when feeding them clean juice. A UPS takes care of it for me. I got a dead one for free, then replaced the batteries with a small 12V Deep Cycle optima. Works like a charm.
