Every time I use ball powder, I hit the weight to 0.002 grains.
Varget weighs about 0.02 grains per kernel but ball powders like Winchester 748 ball are much finer and do not require cutting kernels.
If I'm loading for an F Class match I typically do get out the razor blade and cut Varget kernels in half. While to a person who is looking for something to criticize this might seem excessive, it takes about 3 minutes to do so and is really no trouble at all since the scale I'm using is so reliably accurate. For 100 rounds I might cut 30 kernels... big deal.
Does it matter? IDGAF, I know that source of variability that is within my control is off the table.
I know its not the powder and if there is variation, I look to the next thing until that is sorted out, and then the next thing... etc etc
If you want to compete in F Class against a guy that does this, without doing the same, good luck out there.
