What are your experiences?

I sent off a kenitic bullet puller about 2 months ago, expecting to get a replacement right away. However a month goes by, and i get a letter saying,
sorry we cant send case slick to canada.....

wait what?

call, wait on hold for 30 mins, say i didnt send any case slick, i sent in a bullet puller. Oh sorry bout that, we will send one right out. cool i am thinking.

another month goes by, get the same letter....now im getting pissy... call again, she says sorry we will remove this from the file. Ok...

sorry but they are backordered..ok... wait some more, call again, nope still backordered.....WTF!

how does a company that makes and sells something unable to get me a bullet puller??? I can buy them at any number of online stores, but you can get me one?

I got rid of all my RCBS stuff, bought a dillon....

Can't blame you for going to Dillon. I just received some warranty parts for my (17) year old Dillon 550B. I think one small item they sent is incorrect but I haven't had a chance to install the parts yet. No problem getting the parts under warranty and they were very thorough in asking me questions in order to properly diagnose the issues I was having. All in all, I'm another satisfied Dillon owner. In fact, I ordered a few more caliber conversion kits and a 1200 electric trimmer at the same time.

i agree, i learned how to load on my buddies 550b, and once he took it back, i felt like i lost my #####.

After i bought the rock chucker, i loaded 100 rounds of 9mm, and went this is bunk! Takes days to get that amount of ammo done, or 30 mins on a dillon. Was really not a hard choice, my time is worth more than the extra costs involved in a dillon.

My experience with RCBS has been just the opposite. I've mentioned it previously, that I've always found RCBS products to be sort of a bench mark for me. I do have a few 'pieces' from other manufacturers but I'd guess that 90%+ of my reloading equipment is RCBS. Again, I find they put out a decent product but for me, where they really shine is in customer service, second to none. I've contacted their technical department on some of the finer points, procedures and required equipment for case forming and their response was virtually immediate. Most recently, one of my latest purchases has been their Standard Bullet Puller W/O Collet. However, I still have and use one of their Pow'r Pull Bullet Puller which, unfortunately, I broke a short while ago. I took and sent them photos of what the damage was and within days, they sent me a replacement for the plastic knob plus both the standard and magnum chuck assembly. Then today, in the mail, was a complete unit, sent by JT, their Customer Service Rep. From my point of view, it doesn't get much better than that.

Always excellent.

I have this old pistol reloader called a Green machine that is out of production. they gave me every part they had.

Everything cheerfully and pretty fast.

No complaints.

All my dealings with RCBS have been top notch.I bought a old set of .38 special/.357 Mag dies at a gun show and found out they had a upgrade on the de-primer.Phoned them and the upgrade arrived in the mail, free.Bought a set of 7.5 Swiss dies and found out it was missing the bullet seating stem and the lock nut, quick phone call and the missing pieces are on there way and once again free. The green boxes just seem to multiply on my shelves.Red used to dominate because of the cost but when you get a superior product and great customer service it is hard to justify spending $20.00 less to get less.

I broke my RCBS bullet puller after stripping over 1000 bullets from surplus steel case ammo (don't ask). Called RCBS & they replaced it on my word. Didn't even ask for the old one back. I've had them replace lots of parts over the years and they have never asked for the broken parts back & the parts showed up quickly.

I have nothing but good to say about RCBS, Redding & Lyman. (LEE's service on the other hand has to be the worse I have ever had the displeasure to experience.)

RCBS customer service and warranty is second to none IME. I once purchased a 40 year old press where the toggle (the part that the handle attaches to?) had been busted when the previous owner had dropped it from 12 feet onto concrete. One call to RCBS, and they wouldn't send me the part, they sent me a whole new press!! Things like decapping pins, die parts, etc.... have always been sent ASAP with no cost at all.

I haven't had any recent dealings with RCBS except for the odd e-mail enquiry on product availability in Canada, but in the past I bought many sets of dies, etc direct from them in the US and their service was topnotch. No complaints at all and it would seem that the current service from what I see here in the posts is still good, the op's case not withstanding.

i will admit they are very fast to answer email.
i kinda feel a bit bad for being so pissy about it. i had no idea the problems they are facing now affected loading stuff too. sheesh...
i guess i will just buy another one, and have one for a back up when it breaks eventually. maybe try a dillon one this time.

We are experiencing panic buying like none other. It’s like having a run on a bank. We have literally been cleaned out. We are working 24/7 in manufacturing to get caught up…..

Quality speaks for itself at RCBS...I have been useing RCBS loading equipment for nearly 40 years, loading 10's of thousands of rounds....So far, I have NEVER had a warranty claim with RCBS...QUALITY....31 sets of rcbs dies, only 4 sets of other makers dies(only because odd ball calibers)...The best warranty is the one you NEVER NEED...Dean

My experience? I had to BUY a small rifle primer tube as i was missing the one from my 550b. I had to BUY the alluminum piece where the bullet drops out, because it was missing.
I had placed an order for 4 die holders, funnels number A-F, extra die pieces, pickup tubes, shell plates/kits. Cost was about just under $200 and they stilled billed for the parts that should have been
with the press. My impression, they are very knowledgeable about parts, and had all on hand. I am ticked off that the two minor parts were billed out to me.
I can run, 9mm, .223, .45, .270 each with its own die plate. I think the lifetime warranty should have covered the two missing parts. They make a great product, and
cant understand why they would not honor the warranty. Ya, its a drop in the bucket, but why not have good customer relations, and toss in something to keep
the customer happy. Just the way i was raised, treat people well.

I am not sure about RCBS. I have only one set of dies made by them in .223. They suck big time. Even after going over the current setup instructions online from RCBS a proper .223 cartridge has yet to be made by the dies. My other dies are Lee and I do not have any issues like these RCBS ones. I can setup and run hundreds of .303b, 9mm, or 30-06 both the turret press and progressive loader. Try to get the RCBS set to work properly and actually decap or even crimp a bullet when seating is an exercise in futility. I have a set of Lee .223 collet dies coming. I will bet that They will be setup and running completed loads in a fraction of the time. Never mind the loads will be crimped and are impossible to get wrecked shoulders on necked cases with the new dies no matter adding too much lube or not.

If someone has any tips and tricks for the RCBS 11101 die set please let me know. I'd love to use them but so far I am very much less than impressed.

I've had great service from RCBS. In fact a number of years ago ( about 21 now), I bought a complete reloading kit at a yard sale which is what got me started in reloading my own ammo. I was missing a few parts and needed a couple small replacement pieces and called their 1 800 number. Not only did they send me what I needed but they didn't charge me a dime. The fellow on the phone welcomed me to the reloading world and was glad I got a great deal on their product to get me started. I was impressed and actually go out of my way to buy RCBS products because of that one positive experience.

Went through the same rigamarole with RCBS and a bullet puller but my experience was top notch - they were superb and seamless. My guess is that the hyper activity in the U.S. has everyone chasing their tails and keeping up is tough. I will say though that their Canadian Rep is pretty much useless...tried calling him a few times - emailed and get the response "go to a store and buy one".......
