RCBS dies and stripped lock nut set screws.

So I had a few set screws strip on some of my RCBS dies.

I sent them a message about it at 1:00 in the morning, by 8:00am new ones were on the way. I mentioned i'd lost the nut on my bullet seater so they're sending one of those too.

Great company.

One time I had a bad expander ball on my 30-30 die. They sent me the whole rod assembly as well as half a dozen decap pins.

... all free of charge.

They've earned my business.
I've used RCBS products for the past 33 years, very pleased with their product. However, the only problem I did have was with the set-screw to lock the ring. All I did was replace the ring with a Forester ring, case in point, I have extras on had incase required. I find that the Redding Dies are a better made quality, however the RCBS dies still work.

Just got a reply back from Rcbs. They fixed the issue. No charge as others experienced. Their reputation is well deserved.

Literally the first complaint I've ever heard about RCBS customer service too. I've bought rusty powder measures off of Ebay and they've replaced them with brand new ones. I've never ever had a problem with them, ever.
As for the lock rings, yeah, lead shot under them works well. For my Rockchucker I use the Hornady LnL replacement nut so that the dies become fast change dies and you don't have to adjust them ever again.

Have a few Redding dies, but I find the interior polish to be inferior to RCBS. I like wildcat cartridges. I am able to neck down and roll shoulders back with RCBS dies where using a Redding die of the same caliber will fold and buckle cases. Redding's competition seaters work better than RCBS but not nearly as good as Wilson. Have a few die sets from Whidden Gunworks, great product but had problems with de-prime pins and the way they're secured.

All the die makers give good service and stand behind their product. RCBS gives exceptional service.

When the brass set screw on RCBS lock rings strips, I replace it with a nylon-tipped steel screw.

Another +1 for RCBS

When I first started reloading a few years ago my dad gave me his old rcbs beam scale that he hadn't touched in years(I believe he bought it back in the 80's) and it turned out the beam had gotten bent at some point, so I emailed RCBS and they said to ship the scale to them for warranty.

A few weeks later a new 5-0-5 shows up at the door, nice :)

I also managed to strip a few of my lock rings screws, but seeing as it was completely my fault I just spent the few dollars and bought the forster type clamps and must say they work great
