I have never loaded anything for a rifle before a would like a few opions on something.I have RCBS dies to load for a 300WM,I went and purchased the full lenght dies and there is two of them.I see now that I can get the three dies set,so what is the big advantage with the extra die? Will my two die set do the job just fine?I will have them mounted on a Dillon 550.Thanks:)

The extra die would be a neck sizing die used to resize Fireformed brass only. You'll be fine with you full lenght, buts it will cut down brass life and you could probably get better precision with the neck sizer.

With your RCBS dies, the difference between full length sizing and neck sizing is just a simple adjustment to your re-sizing die. Basically to neck size the die isn't screwed into your press quite as deep.

I usually only neck size with my varmint rifles, but full length size with my hunting rifles just to avoid any feeding issues. As already mentioned by Pilot24, your brass won't last as long if you full length size because it stretches more.

So would it make sense to put that extra die on the press so I can full size and also neck size without adjusting the dies?Is this possible?

You do one or the other, not both. Either you size Full lenght or neck only. If you're starting reloading, I would suggest you do FL. You can play with neck sizing once you are more accustomed to the steps into reloading. Don't forget to get a good manual and read it carefully. It will explain most of the questions you'd be asking yourself.
