Hi,

I'm trying to match a piece of equiment I am restoring to my RCBS reloading equipement (yes that's a bit OCD). I've searched the web and what seems to match the most is Rust-Oleum Hammered Deep Green paint. The only problem is it`s not available for sale in Canada other than through Amazon where it sells 50$ approx for on can of spray paint while a pack of six in the US sells for less even with the exchange rate...

Are there any CGNers who restaured RCBS equipment that could tell me where they found or how they matched RCBS Green? If so let me know.

The old RCBS green was very close to Forrest Service "Safety Green" If you compare it to USFS trucks you'll see what I'm talking about.

I belive Rustolem makes this color.

The new RCBS green is a Hammertone Green .You might even find that in Rustoleum or in the Hammertone series of paints.

Take a look at Rust-Oleum American Accents Leafy Green Smooth Satin Finish.

try this info;

Only in the US that the hammered green color is available, unless i pay 45$ on amazon for 1 spray can when for 25USD I can get a 6 pack of the same can. I'm close enough to go to the US buy it in NY but at the moment it's not an option.

Any paint store can do a colour match. Does it have to be in a rattle can? If not, I'd go to a paint store and they'll figure you out.

I'd get it powder coated, the RCBS paint jobs have to be the worst of any press manufacturer out there. Out of the box it is chipping/flaking off and rough.

Go to a paint store with a piece of your reloading gear in the green color that you want. A Home Hardware , a Home Depot, or one of the
"branded" paint stores should be able to scan the color, get the recipe for mixing it, and build you a can of it ... won't be a rattle and spray can though. That's what I did when I was painting my reloading bench ... grey with RCBS green trim.
I would send you a pic, but I am in my 8th decade, and pretty stupid when it comes to modern technology ... I call on kids or grand kids in urgent situations!
