I remember a thread a while back regarding the above mentioned scale and powdercharger combo offered in the states.(I believe this unit is supposed to be the cats ass) I did a search and went back 6 pages but could not find the thread. I figure this would be a good xmas pressy for myself but $449 Can. seems a bit steep. Anyone remember where i can purchase one of these units in the U.S..?
Most appreciated.:)

thanks guys. i believe that $309 u.s is a good savings and i have a friend that comes down from the states so he could bring it back for me. shipping would be minimal. and there should be no duty on u.s manufactured goods.if i save 100 bones that should be good.

appreciate your help.:)

b.c guy? do you have this unit and what are your thoughts?

As of right now, I've only got the scale part of it, will probably upgrade to the full meal deal in the future. The scale I love, has definitely sped up reloading.

So what will you do for powder, primers and bullets once the local shops close? These are not items you can easily import.
I understand the value of a dollar, make no mistake.
But with so many Canadians supporting US based companies, there is little incentive for the few Canadian gun shops to stay open. With the increased difficulty the US puts onto exporting of anything related to guns now I think it prudent to support OUR OWN, simply in order to try and keep the sales numbers up enough so that the US manufacturers realize we actually DO have an economy up here. If everyone that wants RCBS product deals direct with US based outfit that sends a message to RCBS (for example) that there is no market for RCBS in Canada.
Something to think about.

Yup. Understandable. I buy all my powder, bullets, primers dies locally that is if they have em. If they dont i have to drive to Kelowna. Failing that i will order from either Russells or Wholesale sports. Something like this though i will order where i get the best deal. And thats the U.S. I would say about 95% of everything i buy related to guns is purchased in Canada. Most of the time after you #### around with shipping, duty, all the taxes its not worth you while dealing U.S. But in this case it is. The money i save will go right back towards the local shops.

And the worst part is, when you try to order something in Canada from your local gun store, it takes them 6 months to get it.......

My record: 367 days for some Federal Match Large Rifle primers. Never again.

If you can get something for substantialy less through mail order, buy it. This will force Canadian distributors (who are, in my experience, a sorry lot) and the rest of the food chain to figure out how to stay in business by getting more efficient.

lets see, I ordered a holster for my 9mm xd the same day I got it, it arrived aproximatley 14 months later.......

I think my best story was when i called the Kelowna shop for a set of lee collet dies for my 22/250. Oh yea, she says. We have a set here. So i hop in my truck and drive an hour to Kelowna, get to the shop, sure as s**t there are no collet dies for 22/250. I should have known better. .

For the hell of it i dropped in the shop in my town today to see what they had. Lots of guns on the wall. A couple cans of powder,a few assorted boxes of bullets,no brass, some hats.2 die sets.various cheezy scope rings. Slim pickins i tell ya.
Getting anything around here is like pullin teeth.:(

At the risk of playing the devils advocate, do you think it possible that if less stuff was being ordered from a foreign country, more stuff might be brought in at the local level to supply the demand?
Get your fellow shooters together and talk with your local shop, let them know what your needs are, if they have any business sense they will try to get what you need.
It worked for me, might be worth some of your time to help solve the problem, rather than going outside and possibly ending up with no shop in the area.

Usually I make up a list, especially for reloading supplies, and my 'go to' source of supply is P&d whenever I make a trip to Edmonton.:D Other than cast bullets, :) that I get from a guy in Duncan, thats where I get 90% of my 'stuff'. Just lately though, I have sent a couple of orders state side, one to RCBS for a 'factory seconds' Side Winder case tumbler and another to Midsouth for a 1500 Charge Master Combo. I haven't used the case tumbler or charge master yet as it's been like Christmas here for me lately. I've also recently picked up an 'almost' new pick up. Plan to get to the tumbler & charge master this week.:dancingbanana:

What shop in Kelowna? I hardly ever get there; but it's always nice to have someplace else to shop.

You have to come north to Kelowna? Have you ever been to Del Selin's in Vernon? It's 45 minutes further; but usually worth it.
