I really want to up my powder measuring game, currently I'm weighing everything by hand, and I would love to cut down on the measuring time while getting highly consistent and accurate powder loads. I've been looking at both of these models (I've been starting to get into precision rifle shooting, and my thought process is buy once, cry once) and was hoping to hear some real world experience from forum members. I haven't been able to find too much information on the RCBS matchmaster, other than the video Gavin Toobe did - would love to hear more information, exp. curious about warranty and such.

Thank you so much for your help!
Bye for now,
Ian

RCBS - 0.04 Grain Accuracy in Match Mode, 0.10 Grain Accuracy in Standard Mode

FX-120i is an entry level, full-featured 0.01g to 1mg resolution. This scale provides 1 milligram precision (approximately 1 kernel of average extruded powders). AutoTrickler will smoothly ramp down to finish precisely within +/- 0.02 grains of your target weight,

The Autotrickler ve looks pretty good, went to ceproducts and was almost ready to order the FX120i with v3 trickler till i noticed it was priced in US dollars. Makes an expensive unit 30 percent more so. Will have to do some looking, i do like my RCBS 1500 but you have to watch it when doing large patches.

I think the fact that I can't find very much info or videos of people using the RCBS Matchmaster has swayed me in the direction of the FX120i. It's almost as if no one has a matchmaster.....

The match master must be quite new. It seems like it replaced the Chargemaster 1500? RCBS makes it tough to track and compare their SKUs at any given time, or over time.

I have the same questions. Did you make your choice?

Was struggling between these two before. But I guess picking a ChargeMaster Lite to start with would not be a bad decision.
It is accurate enough to let you shoot tight groups. If you do want to get more accurate, a manual trickller will be able to help to dispense the last 1grain of power by yourself after ChargeMaster. And you can always have a spare powder dispenser in case you want a high end one later.

But if you insist to pick one of two, for me, I will get the MatchMaster, it is pretty much in par with AutoTricker v3 on accuracy test/reviews done by 3rd party(even the advertised accuracy is 0.04grain, AutoTrickler v3 is 0.02grain) and it is all in one device, can be used out of the box, you don't need to make any changes/adjustment like AutoTrickler does when you set it up. As there are more upgrade parts for the AutoTrickler, so you might end up with a $2000 powder system.

I would prefer to save the extra 1000CAD on training or ammo for now or get a more accurate reloading press and/or dies or save some money for an AMP. If I do need a 5 times more accurate scale/powder dispense system, I will see what's available on the market at that time. You might see a new product on Shot Show or new version of AutoTrickler. Plus current lead time is about 2-3months for AutoTrickler v3. AutoTickler v3 does win my vote on speed, but I am not reloading 500 rounds a day, so time is not that critical to me.

Just for your information, if money is not an problem, Prometheus is the one you want, https://www.prometheustoolcorp.com/

Edit:
Found a couple of videos on youtube I watched, thought might be helpful.

the Junke is a bit science, a bit witchcraft. It tries to measure the internal structure of a bullet to identify defects.

Given how a precision bullet is made, it would strike me as being a bit overkill but some swear by it.

When using quality match bullets, proper loading and accurate rifles, the number of WTF's have plummeted.... but when they happen, it can be tied to aspects not easily resolved.

I made the fx-120 jump from a chargemaster - not a single regret. I don't have the auto V3, just the scale/auto trickle. With a quick powder throw a few gr under, its very fast and very accurate. When properly set up, depending on powder, IF it is off, it is 4/5 times by a single grain.
IMHO money well spent

I watched the video of the Matchmaster and the Fx-120 - shooting result show they are similar with even a slight edge for the RCBS.

Is this level of precision and cost necessary ? I am not convinced. Depending on someone abilities, my guess is most people won’t see a difference on target. I am sure there is a level of shooter that can..but for most it is a waste of money.

If you do case competition prep and weight sorting - use custom bullets and have the shooting system and skill, I understand you want one.
