So I'm really sick of picking them up off of the floor..

My googling for a new one has hit a dead end.. RCBS doesn't ship to canada, Amazon -unavailable, ebay - absurd prices (as usual), and etsy has some ghetto looking overly complicated contraption with surgical tubing - no thanks.

Curious if any of you gents know where I could find one of the genuine RCBS ones.

Try x-reload?

Not sure if they're a sponsor anymore.

Look to be in stock

the rcbs primer catcher is garbage. if you have a new rock chucker I will print you one that catches the primers and funnels them in the garbage. they are awesome.

However it is probably the ghetto one with surgical tubing. lol

My wife picks them up after each session, so I don't track them onto the hardwood floors. She knows I can't be trusted to do a competent job.

Its probably just my ignorance that makes me think they look ghetto...

Worth the $40ish ??
The basic Rcbs tray is about $40 (more than half shipping... ouch) from x-reload. (Thanks for link RyPal)

thats the one I have. You dont need the green tray though, the green thing seems more pain than gain.

The black piece mounts on the press and you put a bit of pvc tubing in and aim it over the garbage can. Every primer then jumps in the black piece and through the pvc tubing straight in the garbage. it also seem to catch all the carbon

if you find just the black piece its all you need . $40 is well worth it.

I wouldnt use the RCBS piece of #### tray if you paid me $200 ... whoever retard designed should be beaten

I have something very similar. I'd hardly call it overly complicated, its a single block of 3D printed plastic and a hose leading to a empty pop bottle.
This is a reloading setup, not an antique car. I'm more concerned about it catching all the primers then looking "ghetto"

Skip the RCBS tray, it doesn't work very well.
Ask around, it's not hard to find someone with a 3D printer nowadays.

Just write rcbs and say yours broke, customer service will send you one free of charge.
That have the best customer service I've seen. They just replaced about 7 parts for 2 presses for me. Free. Shipped to Montreal Canada.

Bought the one off Etsy, just the black catcher and a piece of tube.

Thanks for confirming that although it may look ghetto - it works well! function over form for sure.

Gotta admit it hurts to spend $17 to ship a few ounces of plastic though.. I guess amazon prime has spoiled me.

I use a plastic bag you get from the BC Liquor stores.

I loop it over the single stage Lee press and use magic tap to get a correct fit to ensure no spent primers hit the floor.

Actually any plastic shopping bag will do.

But, the best are from the BCLBD store ;)
Has the op thought of contacting any of the many stores that sell these RCBS presses ?
Regular stores should be able to get a replacement part toot sweet.

Both my Rockchucker and to a lesser degree my Dillon 650 tend to give me carpet glitter. The problem I have is when I vacuum the gun room the vac power head picks up the primers but there isn’t enough airflow to pull the primers from the basement to the main floor where the built-in vac lives.

Rattle rattle rattle, until I let the vac suck up a paper towel or two which drags most of the primers up the tube.

Maybe a better primer catcher is in order...

I have an older RC II, which only gets used occasionally since I have 2 CO-AX presses.
The primer catcher on this RCBS leaves much to be desired as well.

If someone has tooled up to make a better one for these presses, I am all ears. Dave.

I have an older RC II also. A while back I searched ebay and contacted a couple of the sellers of the ones that fit the newer RCs. They said that they used to make them but didn't any more.
Daniel at Etsy (above) said that he is looking into making them for the RC II. I will report back if I have good news.
