RCBS RC Supreme sloppy ram.

I have an older Rockchucker [Does not get used a lot, since I have 2 CO-AX presses]
The ram on my RC has minimal slop. Your video illustrates far too much slop, IMHO.

The box says made in U.S.A.
Maybe it is like cars, the parts are made elsewhere but assembled here?
How accurate are the loaded rounds?
With my Co-Ax the die moves around when I am reloading - to me it self aligns and make for some very accurate rounds - with my Lee Press I no longer screw down the die then do a 1/4 turn - I make sure the die can move around and guess what I am getting some very accurate loads. I do allow some variance with my rounds since I measure only the COAL and full size.
Like others have posted parts are likely made offshore and then assembled in America - your mileage may vary.

I believe RCBS outsources the castings for their Rockchucker press and then machines and finishes the product in the USA.
The problem with Chinese castings is the consistency of the metals used. Some are good and easy to machine to tight tolerances while the next batch is junk.

The only thing that I can suggest is have RCBS send a new ram, take the press to a machine shop and have them ream the bore of the frame for an Oilite bushing then ream the bushing to the ram.

Guess I'm lucky. I have a Rockchucker I bought new in the 80's and after who knows how many ten's of thousands of rounds the ram movement is still virtually zero. I do keep it cleaned and lubed consistently so that probably has something to do with the minimal wear. Best part is I once contacted RCBS about some other parts and casually asked what I would do if the ram developed some slop. The girl said "No problem, I'll send you a new ram." which she did. I still have it but have never had to install it.
