RCBS starter kit

Looked at that RCBS realoading starter kit, 320.00 at Bass Pro. Knowing absolutly nothing about reloading is that a good way to be looking? I realize that there is better stuff out there but not knowing if I'm going to put much effort into it I don't want to break the bank. I have a 40S&W, .45auto and .223.H:S:
 
The RCBS is a good place to start, it's where I started, and now I have multiple progressives around and still use most of what comes in that kit.

There used to be two RCBS kits, the one with the Rockchucker is more money, but comes with more goodies, and when I was researching it back in the day, the extra's made up for the cost difference, and you get the better press. You'll have to do the math yourself if both are still available.
 
You can find the Rockchucker kit on here once in a while for decent prices. I went that route saved myself approx $100.00 and shipping, so watch out for deals, think I paid 350 for it. But yes, get a bit better kit with more accessorizes. Buyt your dies, trimmer ,shell holders and you are pretty much set. Honestly can't see any need for major upgrades either.
 
I was at the basspro today,, intending to buy the 1 rockchucker kit they had on the shelf 10 days ago. Unfortunatley someone got there before I did!
 
if you can afford the rockchucker kit...get it..
even if you find out reloading is not for you...you will be able to flog the equipment off in th the EE;)
 
Its out of stock in calgary basspro as of yesterday... But if you go there and see a couple on the shelf... send me a pm and let me know and ill be heading down from red deer!
 
I started with the kit in 1986 and my press has been loading volume since then, in 14 different calibers. The hinge pin had to be replaced a couple of years back, and was done for free by RCBS.

just to help you out..you will need

for the 40 s.w you will need a #19 shell holder

for the 45 auto you will need a #2 shell holder

for the 223...you will need the # 4 shell holder

just to help out a newbie at reloading...:D...pm me your snail mail and i,ll mail these(at my cost) out to you as a gift..as i have a few spares kicking around...

I will be the voice of dissent. RCBS reloading gear represents, in my opinion,
premium prices for average equipment; a small improvement over Lee reloading gear with a huge increase in price.

If you're trying to get into the game cheap, go Lee.

If you're trying to get the fastest, go Dillon (at least, that's their reputation, I've never owned any of it).

If you're trying to get the best, go Redding (at least, that's their reputation, I've never owned any of it).
