RCM re barrel options

Hey Brad, keep me informed dude and shoot a PM with the $/50 piece!

Also im not sure it costs anything to import/export a rifle so may be worth looking into and owning that RCM , i know we would be keen to export ut our end..

Two of my buddies have these RCMs... one loves and the other is what this OP is about,

You could also check with site sponsor, Jerry at Mystic Precision. He brought some 338 RCM brass in for me earlier this year. Bit of a wait based on Hornady's production cycles but I'm good for the life of the rifle.

Check out this idea... maybe you could even contact these Aussies for an update

I hope to do this to my 350 rem mag one day. I would be able to seat bullets .070" further out than I can now and gain powder capacity. It would make all the difference with 225gr Accubonds and let me seat to the cannelure with Hornady 250s.

If course you'd need a rebore as well from 338 to 358, which adds another problem to my suggestion

Sorry to be so unhelpful

Henry at Budget Shooter Supply, a site sponsor, has come through for me on a number of occasions. Even when it was some of the oddball items I needed brass for.

Another vote for putting the cash into reloading here. Brass can be formed or sourced. When I had a .375 ruger I had no problem finding brass. Cutting/forming brass is horrible for a comp rifle but a hunting rifle I find it not to bad.

Yes, look at reloading.??itvis a great caliber. I bought 200 new cases and a set of dies with the rifle when I bought it because I knew it would dry up. I haven't hunted with mine yet. It's only been to the range a few times and I'm still working on some load development.

Thanks for the reminder, I've amended my post as Jerry is also a site sponsor. And you're right, Henry is great to do business with too.

To keep this on track, I agree acquiring the gear to reload is a good option. IMO the 338 RCM is a decent cartridge. Not exactly what Hornady marketed it as, but I'm finding it to be a good moose and elk rifle.

cool to hear Dave , I too think the Cartridge itself is a good one, I'm not an overall fan of the 300 WSM, a wee bit too much for me, a RCM however fits the bill but in a better platform.

My Mate is actually Sold on Selling the Rifle!

superbrad, the brass on EE could be removed and the search may as well Cease..

Joe missed a few this weekend including a Huge Stag... that was about it, then he rung a store which advertised brass in Oz... unavailable so that was deal sealed.

Haha, yeah true, although id rather not have you outlay the cash now that Old Mate is/was so undecided!

Appreciate the help.

I'll let yas know what he decides to go with next, my moneys on a Battue 9.3...

I think the guy is sick of me asking him what he is going to do with this RCM... now its believed he will ship in brass from US of A....

there is 7 boxes of 300 RCM in Australia, I'm wondering how easy it is to FLS to 338?

all my info stacks up apart from having to bump a sholder back is that right?

either way, one expensive route he wants to go IMO.
