So its been three months since I submitted my application and my card was just charged today. Speaking to some friends who had gotten their applications approved and people at the range, people are telling me that if they charged my card, its almost certain that I will be approved.

Is this true? If they have charged my application fee, does that mean I have passed the background check and all my application material are in order?

People also say to call them to ask for updates, does that help with the process? Should I ask them if they need any additional information?

Thanks so much!

Just can't take the suspense for much longer...handguns out of stock, potential ban in october, backlogged system

Charging your card doesn't mean anything other than that they will now start looking at your application. You most certainly can be refused a PAL after a credit card charge. Unlikely unless you have some messed up shi# on your record.
