RCMP "Information Regarding 80% Lowers"

Well,

The writing is on the wall boys. I hope none of you have wasted tens of thousands of dollars on multi-axis CNC mills or thousands on 3d printers because the way things are going, the CFO is going to identify that either of these exist solely for the creation of three dimensional objects and could be used in the manufacture of firearms. And what's more, often they are sold with the materials to make stuff out of!

The best part is, the RCMP have now encouraged everyone with an 80% receiver to go ahead and finish it. Makes no difference now because you're already a criminal.

What receiver?

You are not a criminal until you are convicted of an offense. Don't forget that. I cannot see how this would stand up under appeal, if ever someone was ever to be convicted of possession of an unregistered 80% AR receiver. This just keeps the dealers from being able to sell them unregistered.

They're really reaching with their definition in Section 2, per that letter with the cute little man riding a horse up top.

Ruger 10/22s can be modded to shoot full auto yet the 80% receivers are not even considered restricted or required to be registered.

These folks at the Canadian Firearms Program that make these decisions are clowns that should be relegated to the big top.

MFG - so now "this guy I know", who has "some" 80% AR15 lowers, is now in possession of prohibited "firearms"?? We have officially gone full retard.
This country and its firearms paranoia is out of control.

Mean while back on the streets of this once proud country, we have free needle exchanges, safe space for shooting up illegal drugs, and then the resulting destroyed careers, families, and resulting deaths; not to mention an insane burden on our medical system.

But that's OK, drug abuse is acceptable to our society, but firearms are not.

Not quite. Nobody in the health care industry wanted to enable drug abuse it is nothing more than a harm reduction model; An effort to decrease the cost of healthcare arising from HIV, hepatitis and other chronic long term costs to society. Let's do our research first and not resort to the same silly arguments the anti-gunners use. But we digress....

I've got some pipe and round stock that can be machined into a Sten receiver and bolt. I think I'll call tomorrow and ask what is the best way to dispose of these potentially dangerous almost 80% kits.

Because the Rank and File RCMP officers and other LEOs have as much to do with the civilian staffed RCMP firearm lab as you do.

They are liberal minded politicians that work for the RCMP most of them are political science majors and social engineers. These types of people work for the DND as well

Other LEOs like those municipal police forces can still get the discount, because they are not RCMP. This is also why I really like the Sheriff's Department system in the United States. This really protects the citizens in their county from an over intrusive federal government. I remember a few years back when Obama was talking about more gun control, some county or states are proposing laws that made it ILLEGAL to enforce federal gun laws in their justification. I also remember one sheriff threatening to deputise his entire county to resist the federal government. I wish some municipal police force have the guts to do something similar to what the VPD did after Bill C-36 (Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act) was passed. They released a video stating that what goes on between two consenting adult is not an enforcement priority and they focus on keeping ### workers safe in the community.

I wish some municipal police force will do something similar and declare that the hobby of law abiding gun owner are not their enforcement priority and they will only focus on gun violence.

Why hasn't any RCMP officers spoken out about these decisions? Why hasn't I read any thread on there that tells the story of a RCMP officer catching someone with a 10+RD 10/22 magazine and letting the guy go and telling the guy that he thinks the ruling is stupid? Why isn't there any RCMP officers in their uniform taking a selfie with a picture that read, "I will not disarm law abiding gun owners." Remember, the soldier that carry out an illegal order is just as guilty as the superior that gave the order.

It's not the guys on the job doing this to us.

Are they following the order from above? If so, then they are just as guilty as Bob Paulson. Nuremberg defense just doesn't work.

Throw this one in their faces: A SIG 320 handgun (lower frame only) should now have to be serialized as well as the trigger group if this RcmP letter is to be given any credence at all.

A glock upper can fire with no frame at all... never mind that the rcmp think the mag well of a Sten is the receiver. Both will shoot a bullet and meet the criminal code of a gun.

Why don't we just make cellphones prohibited devices or force car owners to install 30 km/h speed limiters on their cars and limit their passenger capacity to one person.

It will undoubtedly make our roads safer......

Or they could always just ban cars.....

Sadly, this kind of flawed logic knows no bounds and the stupid ideas continually multiply.....

Well you know cell phones are used to trigger IED's...........PS a Luger only requires the toggle and barrel to fire as well.Harold

That is a ridiculous comparison. People are calling for Wolverine Supplies to deny RCMP officers a discount immediately. There have been ZERO "orders followed". You all are punishing for future crimes too.
Sometimes, I think people have no idea how to focus their energy so they kick out at anyone connected with the RCMP. I have a friend who is a civilian member in Newmarket. I'll kick him in the nuts the next time I see him. Sound like an idea?
