What would be a reasonable price for one of these genuine RCMP rifles in mint condition, and how hard are they to find for sale, such as on the EE forum?
I paid $900 a few years ago. They sell for more. Get the serial number and make sure it is on the list of one sold off from the rcmp as many are fakes. Hope this helps.
You can get $900 to $1000 for an all matching # Long Branch in Excellent condition. The MP marked No4 MkI* rifles should fetch substantially more. I could be wrong on my numbers but I believe there were only 1500 rifles that were "MP" marked. I have seen them in all sorts of condition from sporterized beaters to set up for competition to almost pristine. Condition is everything when it comes to collectibles.
I have a genuine one which came out of the Regina depot, but really it is just a standard Enfield tan web sling with RCMP stencilled on it. Very easy to fake.
