Does anybody have a copy of the run the RCMP requires members to go through every year for pistol qualification, and how it's rated?

A few of my shooting brethren are curious as to exactly what is included in the run and how they would perform. I'm intent on setting up a nice friendly competition and see how we stack up against each other.

I attended (and participated) in a yearly qualif run about ten years ago (as a member's guest) but I've forgotten the specifics of the run.

Any help is welcome!

Course of fire you mean? its out to 25 yards.
I wouldnt worry too much about how you stack up against them, they arent marksmen.

We're not worried, it's really just an excuse to wager a few beers on. Any input into the actual course would be much appreciated!

I have watched OPP training on several occasions... if you can hit your IDPA or IPSC target at 7 yards and not miss it your good. Depeding on what there unit is equipt with they also practice with shotguns and buckshot and some type of 223 rifle.

They use stock guns and winchester ammunition.

Remember tactical type shooting is normally very upclose and personal and very unexpected. There is no point in practiceing 50 yard shots if your doing traffic stops and normally encounter threats in close proximity to your person. If a suspect has a weapon the police normally keep there distance its when the weapon is hidden thats a problem and when stress and speed will affect your ability to shoot and survive the situation.
