Ok so I was wondering today does the RCMP ever have auctions to sell their confiscated handguns or are they all sadly destroyed

Destroyed.
After some of the members had taken the best out of the lot. I know a QPP officers who work in rural area were they got more phone call from older people who dont know what to do with there firearms. He sent to destruction what is no good or not much look after, and buy for a really low price the other...I can tell you he make $$$$

The purpose of the Communist/Facist State Police forces at this time is to deny firearms to the people as the people can not be trusted to do as they are told in all matters.
In order to ensure that people will become slaves to the state/government all firearms are to be registered, catalogued then confiscated in order to facilitate a visible regime take-over.
As in all other government matters only a select few of the most loyal party members and even more select few of the Stormtrooper Police Services and population control services will be permitted to continue to possess, acquire and use at their will, any firearms siezed from their lawfull owners.
So returning firearms to the public is definetly NOT an option in the eyes of the dictatorship.
I know it sounds pretty tin-foil hat but I'm thinking of Stalin, Hitler, the Libral party of Canada, Democratic Party USA.... did I forget anyone?

.. Destroyed sadly in most cases. Some of the more interesting ones, I.E Unique, end up being held for reference in Crime Labs. Even when the RCMP went from the S&W Mdl 10, to the Pistol, Members were not allowed to purchase their "old revolvers' nor allowed to even retain the Holsters and speed loaders. ..... David K

What he is doing is illegal.
Regulations were changed as of 31 October 2008 which require any and all firearms currently within a Pubic Agencies inventory or 'Protection' could no longer be transferred. The only exception is another government (public) agency.
This has effectively eliminated any value the firearm would have had. I have been successful in diverting some firearms which have been turned in to go to Museums but am having a hard time finding museums which will take them.
If anyone in Ontario has a contact with a Militia Regiment or Museum which has the appropriate licences I have a pretty decent Mauser C96 and Walther P38 to find a home.
Public Agencies now have until this October 31st to verify and register all firearms as outlined in first paragraph. (Great use of resources!!)
It is a shame that the older crowd has been unsuccessful in finding younger family or friends who have any interest in firearms and related activities. Time to start taking more kids out hunting and target shooting or within 20 years the Govt wins by default.

We had a police officer here who would take them "for destruction", but was taking them home. He's probably working at Micky D's now. In fact, the entire Police Dept. was shut down by the AG, not for that but many other screwups.

Illegal or immoral?? That is the question, I was said that this police man is a gun collectors and shooter himself. And it break is heart to had to shipped these fine piece to be melted.
You know, Have you ever tried to sell firearms trough classifieds in the newpapers?? you received a lot of call from people who dont have any permit and keep calling you to have your gun, they are ready to pay more $$ to get the piece. Elderly people are often not aware about the law for many reason, less interest in the sport, and they are easy target for criminal. So, a lot of them hear about the police coming to your place and dispose of your firearms. Since they are policeman, the confidence is there.

It's illegal and he's risking his career and pension if caught.
What other forfeited property does your QPP buddy deal in? Cars? Drugs? Money?
