I've heard a rumour that the Mounties are switching to S&W M&P 40's.
I read on Wikipedia that they use Sig 220`s in .45 for ERT/SERT I couldn`t believe it. I thought the force was 9mm only.

Damn. Where's my M&P and Sig 220?!?!?!?
I gotta call the armorers shop and ask why I don't have mine yet.

Now Now, don't be contrary ...I remember seeing a Mountie with a Baby M&P in an IWB a while back ...can't seem to recall where though??? let me refresh my memory a bit...![]()
Saw an RCMP officer yesterday with two holsters, each with something inside, on on the right hip, the other on the left thigh as cross-draw. Anyone know what's up with that, and what's in the cross-draw? By the way, this was in Ottawa.
Well I`m just going by what it said on Wikipedia about the SIG 220 in .45, I know they`ve been using S&W 5946 for about 11 years now.
The RCMP was one of the last forces to get rid of the .38 so it will be awhile before the upgrade to .40. In the meantime, the RCMP is actively demostrating "gun envy" by discouraging other agencies from acquiring the .40, including CBSA which ended up with the 9mm version of the PX4 Storm instead of the 9mm because it was RCMP "consultants" conducting the weapons evaluation and it is RCMP armourers who maintain them. I'd be surprised if other federal agencies, including Park Wardens and Environment Canada officers all carry 9mm due to RCMP interference as well.
14-15 years, crap I`m getting old.
