RDS best value optic for AR-15?

I'd agree with mildot on the H1 and KAC BUIS. My go to combo is a T1 2 MOA and KAC micro BUIS. The only practical advantage to the T1, over the H1 for the average Canadian range gun, is if you can find one used, you'll be able to shoot it for quite a while and sell it for as much as you paid for it on the EE. The T1's tend to sell faster, than the H1's, with less haggling.

I went with 1/3 co witness not with clutter issue of the absolute but more on the cheek/eye- stock placement alignment, but you have to check how it fit you, everybody is differrent. 1/3 feels more natural for me, my head/neck is more relax.lol

If I could save you $500 what would you say?
Imo, buy a trs-25. If you shop around you can get one for under $120 tax in.
You dont need a highend rds. Are you military or special forces?
Lol there are so many wannabes it makes me sick.
Spend your money on ammo and training. Then outshoot those wannabes that have 3k+ rifles with a sub 1k rifle.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm always intrigued by this comment?
What's wrong with purchasing a quality RDS and seeing that as an "investment"
On one hand we always hear spend the money on "training"? for what? 99% of the members here are recreational shooters at best? What are they training for? some upcoming conflict? out shoot who? another range member? where?
So it makes me wonder who the "wannabes are?

Lol think of it this way, so you have a 3k+ rifle. How much do you actually shoot? 100 rounds or less a week if not month.
A highend rds is just like those guys who have bmw and and other highend cars.
Its all about showing off.
As for training, if no one was doing it, why would alot of ranges offer courses then?
I totally agree optics wise, buy once cry once. However within reason.
We all know the guys who have all the gear and either dont use it right or spend more time playing with it, than actually shooting. Aka showing off again.

The battery life and quality of Aimpoint is second to none but I love the large window on the Eotech, under time and pressure it is so easy and fast to pick up. It works great for me in CQB of 3 gun and IDPA matches. The Eotech is the fastest target acquisition sight I know of, which is the main purpose of a red dot sight.

Well for me the "showing off" part is subjective.
I'm not sure that buying a quality optic or rifle fit's into that category, I certainly don't purchase gear on a "just enough to get by" attitude.
As for "training" part, well I can tell you first hand that it's a perishable skill, that requires constant engagement. Can that reasonably be maintained as a "recreational shooter? in todays environment?
All the training I participated in and out of the Army was directly related to my occupational choices and was for MIL/LE only.

X2. I tried Aimpoint, but the EoTech donut of death is way faster for me.

Aimpoint fans always point out battery life and "always on" features. I change my EoTech batteries once per year and haven't had them fail yet.

3 pages and no suggestion for a holosun as a "value" RDS?

after some research and deliberation, i should have mine in a few days, and time/cashflow permitting will take it to the range to test out.
