Re-barrel a Rem 760 ?

Interesting question on one of the other forums... a fellow is pondering the idea of re-barreling a Rem. 760 30-06 to 9.3x62.
Has anyone tried this or had any experience with such a beast ?
I read an article about a Remington pump re-done in 338-06 a few years ago, but I can't remember if the gun was a 760 or 7600.
Having seen Remington pumps in 35 Whelen, I would think that such a conversion would be possible.
Any thoughts on this ??

I had a 760 in 35 Rem re-chambered to 358 Win.I couldn't find a smith that would re-barrel one for me so I had to find a nice 35 Rem and go this route.

Any reason that it should not work?

Mag length is correct, bolt face is correct, chamber pressure is lower than many of the calibers chambered in this rifle.
