Re-Barreling a Lee Enfield - Caliber options?

a couple days ago i was thinking the same thing ..... i did some measuring and a 45-100 should just fit in the magazine / action .
i haven't measured the case capacity , but it should be very similar to the 458 winchester .
a new magazine will have to be built to make it feed reliably , i was thinking a single stack mag holding around 7 or 8 rounds .

a nice thing about a 45-100 , you will be able to use 45-90 and 45-70 rounds in it .

also after seeing the 45acp conversions , i was thinking about one in 45 colt but using a magazine made for a 44 mag .

.45-100 sounds quite interesting indeed. Thoughts on a new magazine?

use the 45-90 a 2.4 case, 3.05 COAL use the ruger #1 loads for 45/70 should give about 1900fps for a 500gr. 4000 FPE. It would be your new Bison Rifle

I've got a 45-70 based on a mk5, and I've got a .375 shield barrel and want to have a .375 Winchester built from it.

I did one up in .45 ACP and I'm in the midst of doing one up in 32-40 Win. The next one I do up will
be in .25-35 for the fun of it. The Lee Enfield No 4 mk 1 is an ideal platform for the .375 Winchester
as long as you don't load it hot.:)

Or, for something completely different, the 375 Flanged Nitro Express. Pictures of this one can be viewed on Kynamco website .write up in COTW. cheers

If I recall correctly the 375 Flanged NE is too long. The 375/303 Westley Richards accelerated express would fit though, it was designed to.

whats the difference between the 375/303 Westley Richards and the 375 winchester? Im currently trying to find info if the 375 win will work, and already have a 45-70 conversion.
