Have a G17 and it fires very nice, but that polygonal factory barrel just gets smeared by my hard cast lead [DRG] bullets. And it only takes a couple hundred rounds to do it.
Was thinking about dropping a LoneWolf lands&groove barrel in. Decent price and they claim the chamber is fully supported and has a better feed ramp. That's the first choice.
Second, appears that a replacement LW barrel for the G34 would also fit. Just stick out the G17 by about 3/4". Seems to be the best of both worlds without buying the actual G34. G17 with a original length barrel and a target barrel [LW34 replacement].
Am I the first guy to think about this or has someone tried/experienced this?

I purchased a LoneWolf barrel for my G17 and compared chamber support between the two. I found absolutely no differences (better support/tighter tolerences) over the factory Glock barrel. I sent it back and picked up a KKM match barrel.

Lonewolf works just dandy if you wanna shoot lead. I have been using for a couple of years and its just dandy. The chamber support issue made no difference unless you are running high pressure loads. If u are concerned, talk to Lonewolf. Pretty hard to beat their pricing and service.

My Stainless OGW Glock 9 MM barrel is labeled MATCH, and it is a bit tighter than the Lone Wolf barrel I also have. The OGW barrel shoots MUCH better groups with 148 gr Rem loads, but different loads will give different results.
