RE: Canada Post Strike

Never understood the must have door to door mail arguments, I've never had it, don't need it, happy with out it.
Im surprise my rural street still has it. Less than 800m on both directions there are community mail boxes for some people on my street. Yet I still get mail to my house rural mail box.

Elbows are so up these days, it's almost impossible to think of them going any further.

But I have a lot of confidence that Carney will get them higher still.
This is Elbows Up for me:

What needs to be done is get rid of all unions. Cops, teachers, postal, and all the rest. They are for-profit corporations unto themselves that in reality care not at all about the employees they are supposed to represent.

But the lazy and the foolish continue to think they are somehow benefiting from paying hefty union dues.
Why is it that you koolaid drinking non union guys think all our money goes to dues? I pay working dues which is a very small percentage of my paycheck to ensure I make double what I made in non union.

People who make that comment are very dumb and show they have no clue what they’re talking about.

Unions in Canada are non profits supposedly working for their members. People/workers fail to see they’re working for themselves.

Instead of getting a good deal for remaining members, almost like a conflict of interest when member numbers is the primary concern (source of funding)

Lots of large NGO’s, charities, accreditation and standards org’s, unions just turn into self-feeding beasts. Their goal is the continuation and growth of themselves, everything else is secondary/tertiary…….

Some unions are definitely valuable and a necessity. These unions benefit both the member as well as the employer believe it or not . A collective agreement bargained in good faith provides worker/employer clarity in the workplace with regard to job description, duties, expectations, safety ,hours of work and wage scale . There are certainly some public sector unions who do not fit this description. Instead they have become social justice advocacies , cultural Marxist mouthpieces claiming to represent the membership and grievance generators that harm both the public trust and legitimacy of unions in general …hence cocked and locked’s generalized assessment of unions.
