I want to make 12g dummy rounds so I am going to fill spent ones up with glue.... but first I need to figure out how to crimp the damn things, I tried with my fingers but can't see it going well with anything but an actual crimper made for them. Does any one have any DIY tricks that would work on these suckers?

fill them with cheerios and use an overshot card instead of filling them with glue unless you are going for a particular weight? You can put a dab of hot glue on the crimp after its done if you want to make it good and tight and not worry about it ever opening up.
Best bet is to just get someone to make you up some dummy reloads and mail them to you, or see if there's anyone local.
