well after seeing a few German Reenactors at the Manitoba shoot yesterday, i'm kinda interested in where to find gear and uniforms. i'm interesed in WW1 and WW2 Canadian gear, namely for the South Saskatchewan Regiment and the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. i know some of the stuff like web gear is still fairly easy and cheap to find. does anyone maybe have a list of what i'd need to complete the full kit of an average rifleman?

Well, I've been looking for Canadian and commonwealth stuff.. not easy to find.

www.atthefront.com has a links section with plenty of units and manufacturers of repros listed.

Just be forewarned that the owner of At The Front is a mean, cantankerous bastard who doesn't like to be disturbed.

This is the recognized reenactor, gear hound forum for Canadian and Commonwealth kit. Worth looking into before you start spending buckets of money.

There are several degrees of involvement, from dress up in whatever fits to serious dated and manufacturer specific acquisitions. Be advised there are any number of critics who'll run you down for wearing 1954 Greek Battledress vs 1943 Canadian Battledress. Not that I know the difference myself, but I know this exists. Like post-war Swedish tunics resemble Wehrmacht tunics and are considerably less expensive; but are recognizably different.

Good luck, but remember shooting is the No.1 priority. Don't start buying socks with your ammo money!

WW1 web equipment is BLOODY EXPENSIVE as original stuff was all used up.
www.lawranceordnance.com
does the complete P08 web equipment but be prepared for a bad case of "sticker shock" Haven't looked at the Canadian sites, but someone most likely handles their stuff.

If you have lots of cash to spend, go for it. Proper kit is not going to be cheap.

The pacific coast site hans't been updated in a couple of years. I emailed the uy, wondering if anyone knows if I can expect a reply?
