My 1911 was in dying need of a refinish so i sent it to Nick at Vulcan gun refinishing and just got the basic re-blueing and it turned out beautiful. lots of care gos into his work.
its a Caspian longslide .45
first two pics are the before.

Nick does very nice work, I have a pail full of stuff I'd like to send to him. I have a few pistols he's worked on, including a Brazilian contract Colt that I'm still afraid to touch bare-handed after 10? years. Its that nice, he did a high-polish black oxide finish on it after rebuilding it. Way nicer than when new, which was what I wanted for it. The plan was to refurbish it so I could use it, but I've never fired it since he sent it back to me. All the markings are as crisp as the day they left the factory. I haven't kept in contact with him lately, should fire him a message and see if he wants some more work.

Absolutely top notch. Nice long slide, by the way!

I was able to go to his shop and took a tour. i sent him a shotgun last year to refinish and i told him about the same problem you are having. they are too nice to shoot now. he said lots of people think like that. this 1911 is my best shooter and i will use it but the shotgun i have still not taken it out.
He told me he is always open to work. he has lots on the go but i think that is standard for him. it just might take awhile for him to get to it.

I made a mistake in my previous post, its an Argentine contract Colt (built in Hartford). I had been thinking of a Brazilian S&W when I posted. The Colt was painted green when I got it, all the numbered parts match, and all the stamped parts match. Only thing it could still use is a replacement hammer, this one had a little material removed from it at some point.
