I have a old coey ace 22 and a savage 410 22 over under that have very rough stocks. I know the coey does not have any value and it's a gun I never plan on getting rid of so I would like to make it nicer. The savage i know can be a expensive gun and I'm wondering if refinishing the stock would hurt or increase the value. Some tips on refinishing them would be nice the savage looks to almost have a layer of lacquer that is peeling off so steps to remove that and then normal procedure after. It also has a crack in the wood near the hinge swivel and another crack in the foregrip best way to repair those? All help and pointers would be great
