Re-marking chokes after alteration

I'm glad to see so many people here on-side with my thinking. I frequent a couple of other forums that are more focused on collecting and the history of Browning guns, and I wouldn't even ask this question over there! The way I view it, when this gun was manufactured, ammunition was different. With modern loads, opened to IC/Mod, it will probably pattern closer to how it was originally intended. I like the attitude of that English fellow with the Boss as well, kind of how I look at things. If I could afford an english Best gun, I'd likely be tempted to do the same.

My dad used to guide waterfowl hunters. Back around 1980 he had a fellow out from the US that he knew very well. They were shooting from a canoe and there was a lull in the "flight". My dad looked back and the fellow was laying back on the rear seat with his feet(with hip boots) resting on his Winchester model 21 that he had laid across the canoe as a foot rest. My dad remarked, "geeze, your using a high priced model 21 as a foot rest". The fellow replied, "I don't give a damn what it's worth now, I paid about $150.00 for it new and bought it to use". And he had been using it for over 40 years.
