Re-reaming

I thinking it's "doable" however you will probably have to "set back" the shoulder and adjust for the new head space? I'm not familiar with the geometry of the 300PRC reamer.
I'm interested in the 300PRC cartridge however I think that there's alot left to get out of 300WM, IMO.

Appreciate the input man, I've got my heart set on the prc,,, was mainly curious because I found a good deal on a CF Christensen arms 300wm barrel

Ok, I would do a bit of research into Christensen barrels, especially the CF ones, make sure the "good deal" ends up being one after the re-chambering. I like Proof for CF barrels personally.

How far back to set the 300 Win Mag barrel would depend on the neck diameter of the present barrel and the new 300 PRC reamer. If the present chamber has a larger neck diameter, you would have to set the barrel back a bit more than the length of the neck. If the neck diameters are the same, you would only have to set it back about 100 thou...

Then there is the throat length to consider... is it long now and do you want it shorter?

Its a deal because they are crap! Possibly burnt out already with the issue the carbon fiber barrels are having. Hope you are buying from a reputable dealer. Do your research.

personally, if i was going to invest in the PRC, i would start with a fresh barrel knowing you are going to have it chambered the way you want, with the rate of twist the way you want and no issues or hiccups because of a bump or something weird happening in trying to rechamber a barrel with an unknown number of rounds through it. might mean saving some cash for a little while longer but you might be happier in the end.
