re: restricted Pal exam

does anyone vividly remember what the practical exam entails? Im assuming it is similar to the unrestricted but with small guns. I am asking because I may challenge the exam, with little experience in handguns, but plenty in long guns.

Basically handling the firearm, ACTS & PROVE, normal stuff.

That being said, you have to give it just a little tiny bit more of attention as with shorter firearms it is easier to point them in an unwanted direction.

Take it slowly and you should be fine :)

Did it last weekend. Name and pick out various types of ammo (make sure you know semi-wadcutter). ACTS and PROVE of course. I had to load and unload a double action revolver and store it for transport (they should have a paper that says ATT on it remember to put this on top of your case). Also had to show what I would do if RO calls a cease fire (remember to take a step back with your gun on the table PROVEd safe with action open) Had to show double hand grip on revolver and single hand on semi auto. Load the semi-auto and show how to store it. Pretty much it. I had never touched a handgun before that day and got 98%(failed to identify a semi-wadcutter cause the dummy rounds were so worn you could barley tell it apart from a round nose). Just make sure you're familer with all of them, I got a instructor to show me everything about each kind before I took my test.

Just know what a SA and DA revolver looks like. I challenged mine in December and got like 98%, it's pretty basic. ACTS and Prove like everyone said.
